FAQ

For new students, select a category. You will see a list of courses relevant to that category. Click the ‘Add to cart’ beneath the course price.

Q. How do I login?

Go to the www.e-qualportfolio.co.uk and enter your username and password, which are sent to you by email once your application has been accepted. You can change your password once you have logged in, to something more memorable if you wish.

Q. I cannot login. What am I doing wrong?

First of all, ensure you have the correct login details. You will receive these by email once your application has been accepted. Please use upper case characters where appropriate. Internet Explorer is not compatible with E-qual portfolio and we recommend you use Firefox or Chrome.

Q. When can I start my course?

Once we have received your payment we will activate the course. (This is within office hours Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm)

Q. How do I download course materials and resources from the website?

You will be emailed a student guide on how to use E-qual Portfolio.

Q. How do I view course materials and resources from the website?

We recommend you download all files to your computer and view them from there rather than opening them up via the website each time. Most of our course materials are provided as PDFs (Portable Document Format). You will probably already have the software to view these type of files installed on your computer, so you will be able to open up the files straight away. However do not worry if you cannot as the software required is available for free and you can download it from the Internet.Click here to download the required software

Q. Why do I have to use a password to view course materials and resources?

Firstly, this allows us to ensure students do their course units in the correct order. Secondly, it keeps all your work confidential. Lastly, it protects our course materials from unscrupulous competitors.

Q. If I do the open learning course will I have to attend any workshops?

No, the open learning courses are all online.

Q. How can I contact my tutor?

When you enrol upon a course, you will be assigned a tutor and you can see their contact details on E-qual Portfolio.

  1. For Level 3 and 4 courses you can either pay in full to receive a discount or take the easy payment option.
  2. Pay by debit/credit card online.

Q. Is the deposit taken from the course fee, or is it additional?

The deposit is taken from the course fee.

Q. Is paying online secure?

Yes, we use the latest 256-bit encryption technology provided by WorldPay (part of the Royal Bank of Scotland) to ensure that your card details cannot be stolen.

Q. How long will each Level 3 and 4 course take to complete?

Each course has a set amount of time to be completed. This is due to the accredited bodies registration rules. In exceptional circumstances these timeframes can be extended.

  • The Level 4 Professional Diploma in Dental Practice Management is 12 months.
  • The Level 3 Advanced Award in Dental Reception is 9 months.
  • The Level 3 Advanced Award in Dental Treatment Coordination is 9 months.

There are no examinations at the end of the courses. The final results are based upon the outcome of the unit assignments.

Q. It has been a long time since I last did any formal studying, what do you recommend I do?

We would recommend that you take our short foundation courses first. These courses can be completed within a month and they will allow you to get back into education. You will be assigned a tutor who will help you through the course and give you useful tips on how to write essays.

Q. Do I need to be a Practice Manager in order to enrol upon the Practice Manager courses?

No, it will depend on the extent of your dental practice experience and day to day role.

Q. I have problems reading small print, will this affect my learning?

No, when you are using the website the software used to view course materials allows you to ‘zoom in’ on the text. Please contact us if you need more help.
